DVI-3D has been a work in progress since 2017. It has been molded by years of law enforcement investigations, support from the crash and investigative community, and the endless drive to improve. While our hope was to create a extraordinary simple product with high-end graphics, the list of functionalities within the application is exponentially growing. This list of needed functionalities has created a learning curve necessary for the users. While our hope was to avoid this, the need for some training has become inevitable.
While the initial plan was to build a 3D diagramming application for the law enforcement and crash community, it took very little time for the crime scene world to step up and illustrate their need as well. As President of this great endeavor, known as Delta V Innovations Inc, and current active-duty police officer (at the time this was authored) my devotion to the investigative community is resolute. My devotion to using my training and skills to assist with the current and future generation of investigators one of our principal ethos. Delta V Innovations’ principal core value is to provide the crash and crime scene community tools that they need to better determine the truth.
While animation and simulation are not currently in any future plans, the community of users will ultimately decide which functionality will be added. Most feedback that we are receiving is that the DVI community is more interested in simplified diagramming, 3-dimensional graphics, and a company that will work with the users without the annual ransom – otherwise known as subscription fees. Now that does not mean there will not be an occasional maintenance, upgrade, or functionality add-on fee – I do have the best programmers in the world, and they like to feed their families – but we are not going to charge you annually for a subscription to have access to your data.
